Delete your account

You can remove your Splayex account and everything in it. There are two ways: from inside the app, or by writing to us from this page if you no longer have the app installed.

From inside the app

Open Splayex and sign in.
Go to Settings.
Open Account Information.
Choose Delete my account and follow what it asks.

In the same place there is Pause my account. It hides everything for as long as you like and deletes nothing. If you only want to step away for a while, that is the one to use.

Without the app

If you have already uninstalled Splayex, you do not need to install it again. Write to us and we will do it for you.

Send an email from the email address the account uses, with the subject Delete my account. Sending it from that address is how we know the request is really yours.

You will get a reply confirming it. If you do not hear back within three days, write again — an email occasionally goes astray.

What happens next

Your account goes quiet straight away. Your profile, posts and reels stop being shown to anybody.

After 15 days everything is removed for good. Those 15 days exist so that nobody loses years of their life to one bad evening — signing in again during that time cancels the deletion and brings it all back.

After the 15 days nothing can be brought back, by us or by anyone.

What is removed

Your profile — name, username, photo, date of birth and email
Your posts, reels and statuses
Your pictures, videos and voice notes
Your skill profile and hire history
Your notification settings and the token for your phone
Your username, which is handed back and becomes free again

What is kept, and why

A message you sent to somebody else stays in their copy of the conversation — the same way a letter you posted is theirs once it arrives. It is their data as much as yours.
Technical fault records are kept up to 90 days so faults can be found and fixed. They say what failed and when, and carry no message content.
A minimal note of a ban, if the account was removed for something serious, so the same person cannot simply return the next day.
Anything the law requires us to keep, for as long as it requires. Nothing beyond that.
