Splayex
Last updated 20 October 2026
Splayex is a social app with a place to find work in it. You post, you message people, and you can offer or hire a skill. To do any of that the app has to keep some things about you. This page says exactly which things, why, and how to get rid of them.
The short version. We keep what you give us and what the app needs to work. We never ask for your phone number. We do not sell your information to anybody, and we do not show you adverts bought with it. You can delete your account from inside the app, and 15 days later everything goes.
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address | It is how you sign in, how we send you a code when you forget your password, and the only way to reach you about your account. |
| Name and username | So other people know who they are talking to. |
| Date of birth | To check you are old enough to be here. We keep the date; we do not show it to anyone. |
| Your profile photo, posts, reels, statuses and comments | They are the app. You choose what goes in, and you can remove any of it at any time. |
| Your messages, and the pictures, videos and voice notes in them | So a conversation is still there when you open it again. |
| Your skill profile and hire history | Only if you choose to offer a skill or hire someone. |
| A notification token for your phone | So a message can reach you when the app is closed. It identifies the phone, not you. |
| A location, if you add one to a post | Only when you add it yourself. The app does not follow you around. |
| Basic technical records — when something failed, and why | So faults can be found and fixed. These carry no message content. |
One thing said plainly. Messages are private, but they are not end-to-end encrypted. They travel over an encrypted connection and are stored on servers we control, which means we are technically able to reach them — for example if we are required to by law, or to look into a report of something serious. We do not read them otherwise. If you need guaranteed secrecy from us as well, use an app built for that.
Splayex does not run its own machines. It uses three services, and nothing else:
These companies keep data on servers in several countries, so your information may be stored outside the country you are in. Each of them publishes its own privacy terms.
In the app: Settings → Account Information → Delete my account.
Your account goes quiet at once — your profile, posts and reels stop being shown. After 15 days everything is removed for good: your profile, your posts, your reels, your files, your username.
Those 15 days are deliberate. Nobody should lose years of their life to one bad evening. Signing in again during the 15 days cancels the deletion and brings everything back. After the 15 days nothing can be brought back, by us or by anyone.
In the same place there is Pause my account, which hides your account for as long as you like and deletes nothing.
A message you sent to somebody else stays in their copy of the conversation, the same way a letter you posted is theirs once it arrives. Everything that is yours alone is removed.
Splayex is for people aged 13 and over. If you are under 13, please do not make an account. If we find out an account belongs to someone under 13 we remove it. If you are a parent and believe your child has made an account here, write to us and we will remove it.
Some countries set that line higher than 13. Where that is the case, the higher age applies.
Your password is never stored in a form anybody can read. Private files are handed over only to someone who can prove who they are. Connections are encrypted.
No service is perfect, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. If something goes wrong that affects you, we will say so rather than stay quiet about it.
When this changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change really matters, the app will tell you rather than leaving you to notice.
Write to support@splayex.com, or use Settings → Help and support in the app. A real person reads it.
